Salary: $91,668.00 per annum

Applications are invited for the post of Financial Investigation Specialists (FIS) in the Financial Crime Unit of the Bermuda Police Service (BPS). Working under the overall direction of the Officer in Charge of the Crime Division, the post holder(s) will provide an effective and professional, financial investigative service to the BPS.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Conduct in-depth investigation into illicit financial activities, with a focus on high value acquisitive crimes and terrorist financing cases.
- Develop and analyse financial intelligence to identify trends, criminal networks and asset movement.
- Utilise relevant legislation and investigative tools to maximise enforcement efforts.
- Obtain and execute Production Orders, Restraints, Confiscation and search warrants in accordance with legal frameworks and policy guidelines.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including law enforcement and regulatory agencies, to enhance intelligence sharing and case resolution.
- Prepare and present case files, intelligence reports, and evidential statements for legal proceedings.
- Support initiatives to progress BPS obligations in line with Financial Action Task Force (FATF) international standards.
Applicants must be an accredited Financial Crime Investigator, who has completed both the Financial Investigation and Confiscation/Restraint Courses, provided by the Proceeds of Crime Centre (PoCC), in the UK. Qualified as a Money Laundering Expert would also be an asset.
A Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Financial Crime Investigations or related fields, and accreditations such as ACAMS, ICA or CFE, would also be desirable.
Applicants must have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a similar position, in a computerised environment, with extensive experience in the tracing and confiscation of assets.
The role is offered for 12 months and will be based at the Financial Crime Unit, Specialists Investigations Department, Hamilton, Bermuda.
