Contract awarded for new national policing e-procurement system
A four-year contract has been awarded for a new single national e-procurement system that will be used by police and fire services.
BlueLight Commercial said it will replace the existing separate e-tendering and contract management systems to help streamline the procurement process.
The framework agreement with In-tend Ltd, a provider of e-procurement systems and related services, will provide “call-off options” for customers for up to ten years.
Ruth McDermott, regional commercial director at BlueLight Commercial, said: “Over the past year we have been working in collaboration with our police and fire colleagues to find a solution to replace our existing separate e-tendering and contract management systems.
“Not only does this solution help streamline the procurement process by providing a single system, from tender to contract management and re-tender, but it also provides new functionality in the form of a supplier relationship management module.”
Steve South, chief executive officer at In-tend, added: “We are delighted to be partnering with BlueLight Commercial to offer the In-tend solution and all the functionality the software delivers to their membership and wider framework users.
“This adoption will bring even greater levels of collaborative procurement and help re-grow the UK wide network of adopters.
“We believe our software will facilitate best practice; not just by use of the software itself, but with the ongoing investment in product, training and added value elements over the contract term.”
BlueLight Commercial said the new system will help improve visibility and management of contracts and suppliers.
