Officer in court over historical sex offences

A serving officer with West Yorkshire Police is one of 15 men who will appear at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court today (January 6) to face charges of historical sex offences against teenage girls.

Police Constable Amjad Ditta, who was attached to the force’s Protective Services Operations, is charged with sexual touching.

The allegations against the group date from between 2006 and 2009 against three female victims, who were aged 13 to 16 at the time. Other charges against the defendants include multiple counts of rape, sexual assault, supplying cocaine and cannabis and making a threat to kill.

PC Ditta is currently suspended from duty.
