PC who admitted assaulting officers while drunk is sacked
An officer who assaulted two of her colleagues when they conducted a welfare check at her home has been dismissed.
PC Sarinda Welsh, of the Metropolitan Police Service, was sentenced last month to a 12-month community order after pleading guilty to two counts of assault and malicious communications.
The incident occurred on January 9 at her house in Bexley, southeast London, when Welsh, who was heavily intoxicated, threw a glass tumbler across the room and kicked an officer.
In addition to the community order, Welsh was also ordered to engage with alcohol services and pay £300 in court costs and an £85 victim surcharge.
Following a special case hearing on Friday (August 31), the force decided that dismissal without notice was the appropriate action.
