The Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) has agreed a six-month contract with a management consultancy to provide programme management support as part of its business transformation change initiative, the One Met Model 2020.
The MPS says BMT Hi-Q Sigma (BMT), a subsidiary of BMT Group, will provide capability and capacity in four key areas: planning and dependency; benefits management; risks and issues; and project management.
The BMT team will look to establish coherent, robust delivery schedules, while risk and issue management experts will look at identifying threats to the successful delivery of the change programmes and their component projects.
BMT, which is also supporting other large-scale programmes across the justice sector and wider government departments, will use its P3M (project, portfolio and programme management) framework throughout the duration of the MPS project.
Simon Gould, managing director of BMT Hi-Q Sigma, said they were delighted to be working with the MPS to help it deliver its vision and implement the One Met Model.
We place great emphasis on skills and knowledge transfer, he said, adding that the BMT team will work closely with MPS personnel so that they understand the approach and can implement it successfully.
