Tri-borough ICT deal benefits policing

The Metropolitan Police Service and City of London Police will be able to take advantage of a new ICT framework agreed between three London councils.

According to UK Authority, Kensington and Chelsea, Hammersmith and Fulham and Westminster, which form the Tri-borough partnership, have chosen BT as the sole supplier for an ICT procurement framework agreement, worth up to £200 million.

The three councils, which share an ICT service and chief information officer, have agreed the deal as the latest of the frameworks to be developed since they formed the Tri-borough ‘shared services’ in 2011.

It will take in a range of products and services including local and wide area networking, cloud services, fixed and mobile telephony, unified communications and online conferencing.

As well as police, the framework will also be open for other public sector organisations in London, including all the local authorities, schools, Transport for London and social landlords.
