Officer pleads guilty to sharing obscene images

A Diplomatic Protection Group officer from the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) has pleaded guilty to 11 counts of publishing obscene images.
PC James Addison, 37, will appear at Westminster MagistratesÂ’ Court on May 14 for sentencing. He will remain suspended until the conclusion of his misconduct hearing.
During the course of the inquiry, 14 officers have been the subject of either a criminal or misconduct investigation over the possession and distribution of obscene images through mobile phones between February 7 and June 6, 2013.
Four officers were arrested during the initial criminal investigation and a further ten officers were arrested as part of a misconduct investigation involving obscene images.
