The College of Policing’s e-learning products covering the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics Games in London have won gold at the 2012 E-learning Awards.

The eight-module package, which was implemented by the college’s Managed Learning Environment (MLE), won Best E-Learning Project in the not for profit sector.

Three hundred and sixty thousand e-learning courses were completed before the Games began in August last year.

The success of the stalking and harassment e-briefing was also recognised at the awards, taking silver for ‘excellence in the production of learning content’. The product covers the latest legislation and key issues regarding the victims of stalking and harassment crimes.

Both products were designed by the National Centre for Applied Learning Technologies (NCALT), a collaborative effort between the College of Policing and the Metropolitan Police Service.

Mark Osborne, the College of Policing’s head of e-learning, said: “We are delighted that the college has been recognised at this level. I would like to congratulate all of those involved – the team at NCALT, colleagues across the college, and the significant support and expertise of external stakeholders. The quality of the end products and successful implementation are testament to individuals and teams working well together and these awards are hugely well deserved.”
