A transgender Essex Police officer is suing the force after alleging she had been forced to disclose her gender change three times during separate radio conversations with the force control room.
The alleged incidents, in October 2012 and twice in June 2013, saw PC Emma Chapmans identity questioned, in one incident apparently being told she had a male voice.
Essex Police said it would contest the case.
