The Chief Executive of the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) has been awarded a CBE in the Queens Birthday Honours.
The award was given for her services to justice and policing and is in recognition of her leadership as CEO of the IPCC and also for her work at the Probation Service and the Office for Criminal Justice Reform (OCJR).
Ms Furniss said: I have spent over 35 years working to improve the way the criminal justice system delivers in the public interest.
