Leading security systems and solutions provider, Siemens, has launched Siveillance Command, Siveillance Vantage and Siveillance SiteIQ, an innovative portfolio of intelligent command and control security platforms to the UK market.

This next generation of command and control technology has been developed to add significant operational value to organisations by not only improving security and safety, but also managing critical situations, while reducing costs and enhancing procedures.

In response to a market that will increasingly require technology to manage the response to critical incidents, as well as deploy resources, these advanced command and control software platforms have been designed to protect critical infrastructure as well as meet the demands of today’s corporate organisations. They can be applied across a wide range of industry sectors including the police, fire and ambulance services and government agencies.

Siemens is recognised worldwide in many sectors for leading the way in innovative technology, the strategy for the Security Solutions division is to develop technical leadership through Siemens own IT-based integration platforms and drive open standards such as ONVIF.

Dave Pickles, UK managing director of Siemens Building Technologies Security Solutions, explains: “The launch of the Siveillance portfolio is particularly timely for the UK. The nation is on a heightened level of alert against the threat of international terrorism and cyber attack and at the same time, the Home Office and the Ministry of Justice are facing budget cuts of 26 per cent. The private sector also has to operate with leaner budgets.

“The great challenge is for public institutions, critical infrastructure and corporate business to lower costs while reducing risk and improving operations and security. A technological step change is needed to enable all sectors to meet both current and future security challenges, as well as maximise their investment in technology.”

To date, the UK has been using security management platforms that integrate and control CCTV, alarms, access control and perimeter protection. Siemens has recognised the need to deliver deployment as well as control. The new Siveillance range will not only act as a security platform but also manage every incident through to conclusion. Operators are automatically prompted to take the correct action and the software will automatically set in motion a sequence of pre-agreed activities to ensure the right procedures are adhered to, as well as distributing essential information across multi agencies.

The key features of the Siveillance command and control portfolio are the improved assessment, management and resolution of critical situations, the distribution of crucial data and the coordination of computer-aided dispatch for essential services. In line with the need for both the public and private sectors to lower costs, these software platforms will enable improved operational
performance, safer communities, safer business, improved shared services, greater efficiencies and cost reductions.

The command and control products in the Siveillance portfolio are:

Siveillance Command – a high level integrated command and control solution that delivers immediate and appropriate response to emergency incidents within guaranteed reaction times. Siveillance Command is a workflow-oriented, highly redundant and networked command and control system incorporating an integration platform for security technologies, emergency and communication user interfaces along with TETRA functionalities. Typical applications include police, fire and ambulance services.

Siveillance Vantage – an innovative and advanced software solution for corporations and public agencies that need to deliver command and control across the whole organisation. It can
be easily adapted to customer-specific security needs and security policies and incorporates an integration platform for security subsyste
