Merseyside Police has added intelligence management to its core operational policing system from Niche Technology.
The system will manage the forces intelligence needs, which could include material from covert sources, street stop-checks, field observations, etc. It complements the forces existing use of custody, crime, property, case file preparation and general incident management software from Niche.
John Hampson, IS director at Merseyside Police, said: We have now consolidated our main operational information management requirements on the Niche RMS (Records Management System), which helps to rationalise our IT estate and generate efficiencies for the force.
Merseyside Police is the eleventh UK police force to roll out Niche RMS. Because it provides the capability for all police agency data to be managed in a single system, it can be used as the Intelligence Fusion Centre for a jurisdiction.
