Herts DCC to replace Julie Spence
Deputy Chief Constable Simon Parr has been announced as the new Chief Constable of Cambridgeshire Constabulary.
Deputy Chief Constable Simon Parr has been announced as the new Chief Constable of Cambridgeshire Constabulary.
Mr Parr has been selected by Cambridgeshire Police Authority to replace Chief Constable Julie Spence who is due to retire in September.
Mr Parr is currently responsible for human resources, organisational planning and development at Hertfordshire Police.
He joined the force in January 2004, having previously spent 20 years with Sussex Police where he was involved in the management of the Lewes floods in 2000, and the public order policing of several party conferences in Brighton.
He is also the force lead on mobile data and the Eastern Region drawing all six forces together to deliver the convergence plan by 2015.
Until recently, he was head of operational support, co-ordination of Hertfordshires firearms response, the operations room, criminal justice, contingency planning, and business continuity amongst a number of other specialist teams.
He has also been responsible for tackling serious and organised crime, and the investigation of murder and other serious offences.
