The City of London Police has announced that 38 people have been charged with crimes in relation to the G20 protests.

Twenty seven people will appear at court on September 3 and 4 for crimes including: impersonating a police officer, violent disorder, causing fear or provocation of violence, theft, possession of an offensive weapon, assaulting a police officer, burglary and criminal damage.
Three people are currently on court bail, charged with; arson and recklessly endangering life, criminal damage and burglary and possession of articles for use in criminal damage
A further eight people, charged for a variety of offences, including criminal damage and burglary, have been dealt with using referral orders, cautions, conditional discharges and community orders.
Six people remain on police bail and two have failed to answer bail.
The investigation is led by the City of London Police. Senior investigating officer, Detective Chief Inspector Steve Chandler, said: `The investigation into the offences which took place in the City of London during the G20 protests is continuing.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police, City of London Police and the British Transport Police have worked together to ensure the small number of people committing crime are put before the courts where appropriate.
