As knife crime becomes more prevalent, ASEO Europe has unveiled a protective knife and slash-resistant T-shirt.
This discreet, lightweight T-shirt is made from a material that is, pound for pound, 15 times stronger than steel and 40 per cent stronger than Kevlar and unlike products containing Kevlar, the garments can be worn directly onto the skin under a uniform.
ASEO Europe, a specialist in protective clothing has introduced a range of both long and short-sleeved knife and slash-resistant T-shirts. They are made of a material called Spectra®, which boasts a very high strength-to-weight ratio.
The T-shirts have been designed to offer the highest level of protection, and tested to BS EN ISO 13997:1999.
Robert Kaiser, managing director of ASEO Europe, explained: My company was founded on the belief that all workers in any sector should feel safe at work. Due to the recent growth in anti-social behaviour and knife culture, unfortunately this is not the case for many people. So for me, the next best thing is ensuring workers are protected in case they are faced with a violent situation.
